Websites for the Russian market
Websites that are built to bring enquiries, not to win design awards. I build new ones and repair existing ones — including sites someone else made and then abandoned.
What I build
- Landing pages for a single product or campaign, where every block works towards one action.
- Company websites with services, prices, cases and documents — the kind a buyer checks before a first call.
- Catalogues where the point is finding the right item quickly, not the size of the assortment.
- Business cards and link pages for those who sell through messengers and social media and need one clear address.
Mostly on WordPress. It is not fashionable, but it is the platform your future colleague or another contractor will be able to pick up without rewriting everything. If your task needs something else, I will say so.
What is included by default
- Mobile layout treated as the main one — that is where most of the traffic is.
- Working forms with submissions arriving by email and stored in the site’s own database, so nothing is lost if mail fails.
- Analytics with goals configured, not just a counter dropped into the header.
- Page titles and descriptions for search, an XML sitemap, correct redirects.
- A privacy policy and a consent checkbox on forms — in Russia this is a legal requirement, not a decoration.
Working with an existing site
Rebuilding from scratch is not always the answer. Often it is faster and cheaper to fix the load speed, redo the mobile layout, repair the forms and rewrite the key pages. I will tell you honestly which of the two is your case, including when the honest answer means a smaller invoice for me.
What is specific to the Russian market
- Data storage. Personal data of Russian residents must be stored in databases located in Russia. That affects the choice of hosting and of any form or CRM service.
- Analytics. Yandex Metrica gives you session recordings and heat maps for free, and it sees Yandex traffic properly. It is worth having alongside any other system you already use.
- Payments. Foreign card acquiring does not work here; a Russian payment provider and a Russian legal entity or self-employed status are needed to take money online.
- Domain and hosting. A .ru domain and Russian hosting help with local search and load speed, and cost very little.
Access and ownership
The domain, the hosting, the admin panel and the analytics accounts are registered to you and stay with you. If we stop working together, you keep everything and can hand it to anyone. A site held hostage by its developer is a business risk, not a loyalty programme.
Cost and timing
Both depend on the number of pages and on how much of the content already exists. I quote after we have discussed the task — a price named before that would be a guess, and guesses in estimates always turn into arguments later.
